Binding wires (O-wires)
for The Cinch and the Bind-it-All
Binding wires are designed to bind 11 inches of spine, with a 2:1 pitch. A
2:1 pitch means that the wires are made to be used with a hole-punch pattern of
2 holes per inch. Pitch is important, because if the pitch of the wire
does not match the pitch of the holes, then the wire will not fit well in the
book. Diameters below refer to the size of the wire
when closed around the book.
For 12"
projects, you will center the holes. leaving 1/2" of un-punched space at the
top and bottom of the project.
The wire we carry is the standard length for binding 11" spines and is packaged in the
standard 50-piece boxes. Because we sell the
standard length wire in its original, standard packaging, it costs
much less than it would cost in special-order lengths or in custom,
smaller-quantity packaging.
We buy our binding wires -- by the pallet -- from major manufacturers that supply binding
wires to other commercial enterprises. These are the same wires used to
make the wire-bound books that are available on the commercial market -- the same
binding wires used to manufacture the wire-bound books sold in
stationery stores and scrapbook stores.
Important: Binding wires and plastic spiral coils are NOT
interchangeable. These metal wires are designed for use with wire binding machines
that punch 2 holes per inch -- such as the The Cinch from We R Memory Keepers, the Zutter Bind-it-All and the Akiles OffiWire
machine. If you have a RubiCoil machine or other plastic spiral coil
binding machine, these metal binding wires are not compatible. Click
