Masquepen -- the easiest way
to mask!
If you have used bottled masking solution, you know how difficult it is
to confine it to a small area with a brush applicator. The makers of
Masquepen have solved this problem by creating a thinner, finer masking solution
that flows through a fine tip. What a difference! They even designed a second
super-fine tip for the thinnest lines imaginable. It's one of our favorite
tools for use with altered books!

Jean Lawson shows how she used Masquepen in a direct-to-paper
background. She masked just the white part of the rubber stamped eyes for
a dramatic effect.
Masquepen makes masking fun instead of a challenging task. Artists who
make polymer clay jewelry have been especially thrilled with this product
because thin lines are imperative on a tiny palette.
The Masquepen line now includes a refill, and a new attachment, the
Supernib. The Supernib makes spidery-thin lines. Refills come in bottles
identical to the original, which saves time and effort -- you just switch tops and keep on working
without pouring. It is a wonderful masking fluid, as it doesn't stain, and lifts
easily.
Masquepen allows you to use masking fluid in ways not possible until now. Draw straight lines or curves, thick or thin lines, small dots, stamens, snowflakes, flowers. No mess, no waste. The pale blue water-based latex solution is easy to see and apply. It peels off easily and does not damage the
paper. You can use it both under AND on top of inks, watercolors and acrylic washes.
No more ruined paintbrushes. No more hunting for an applicator. The stainless steel prong in the cap seals the .8 mm nylon nib so the fluid won't dry out.
Masquepen comes in a lightweight 30ml (1oz) non-breakable bottle so it goes anywhere you want to go.
Masquepen deluxe set: $29.95

Before completely covering an altered book page with gesso, paint or
chalk, first skim the text for words that might complement your theme... use the
Masquepen to cover the words you'd like to keep, then prep the page. After
the paint or gesso dries, lift the mask made with the Masquepen, and your words
will stand out nicely.
